It’s not just the city of Bordeaux I like, but it’s prize, St. Emilion, and the wine. I prefer the cabernet sauvignon and merlot blends of the region to the pinot noirs of Burgundy. Though, I’ll give myself more time to try again. Outside town, the scene quickly changes when you drive through the fields of St. Émilion. I like to hear the winemakers stories at the old monasteries and sprawling châteaux. This time I had a bit of fun with some friends at Château de Pressac, though hopefully not too much fun. It’s easy to make a day trip to Saint-Émilion. When you tour the village, pass by the Collegiate church mixing romanesque and gothic styles. Then, walking the narrow cobblestone streets, you can’t miss la Tour du Roy, a 13th century king’s keep. If you have time, go down into cloisters, check out the markets, and taste the regional sweets. If you enjoy my vlogs, hit the like and subscribe button to show your support! Until next time Bordeaux!
